Insígnia

Insignia of the Father Horacio Cura Formation Centre

The centre's insignia dates back to 1999, and was designed by Chief Jorge Rodrigues, who won the competition open to all Boy Scouts for its idealization. Later, in 2017, the insignia was updated, as the field name was changed to centre.

Brief description of the insignia:

The insignia includes the main characteristics of the Training and Scouting Centre, namely the areas of development and colour:

Shelter

Character development - the attitude

The shelter means each Scout's space, his comfort zone.
It concerns the responsibilities towards oneself and the right to self-development, to learning and to grow in search of happiness, respecting others. It also relates to the choice of objectives and the definition of actions and options to achieve them.

Tree

Intellectual development - intelligence

The tree, in a restricted sense and nature in a broad sense, means the space around the boy scout and his relationship with things.
Intellectual development integrates the development of the capacity of reasoning, innovation and the original use of information, also relating to the ability to adapt to new situations.

Fire

Affective development - feelings and emotions

The fire symbolizes the descent of the Holy Spirit and his capacity for renewal at every step and in every project.
Affective development is related to individual feelings and the ability to express them in such a way as to obtain and maintain a feeling of freedom, balance and emotional maturity.

Jesus Christ crucified

Spiritual development - the sense of God

Jesus Christ and the faith of each one.
Spiritual development is intended to deepen spiritual knowledge and understanding of the moral heritage of our community, discovering the mystical reality that gives meaning to life and drawing conclusions for everyday life, while maintaining respect for the religious choices of others.

Tent

Social development - social integration

The tent is a sign of mobility and readiness to get going, but also of the need for a temporary stop to reflect, rest and internalize the events of the journey. It is also a sign of the welcoming attitude: "Stretch out the cloths of your tent, lengthen the ropes that hold it, and there they arrive in a crowd...".
The welcoming of others is a sign of the presence of God in the midst of the People. It relates to the understanding of the concept of social interdependence and the development of the capacity to cooperate and lead.

Watch Tower

Physical development - the body

Ex-libris of the center means to be in a constant state of mental and corporal attention to fulfill your Duty. To be mentally alert through a discipline that allows one to be obedient to each order, and also to think beforehand about situations and accidents that may occur, in order to know and wish to act correctly at the right time.
To be physically alert, becoming strong, active and able to act in the right way at the right time.

In color they identify and relate to scouting:

Yellow reminds the wolf that he must be cheerful and try to imitate the example of Jesus at every moment of his life.

Green is a symbol of nature and of the hope that all place in the explorer. But also, for the leader of the CNE the decision to assume his baptismal commitment as educator and evangelizer in Portuguese Catholic Scouting.

The blue of the pioneers recalls "the immensity of the sky and the depth of the seas, symbolizing the greatness of the ideal 'ever farther' in the service of good" that in the promise the pioneer promises to live.

Red in the Liturgy is the colour of the Holy Spirit and thus constantly reminds walkers of His presence in their lives. It is also the color of blood and therefore a symbol of life and love. The walker is life, it is witness, it is strength, it is energy, it is warmth and therefore it cannot stop... His life has to be a permanent walk.

The brown represents the earth. For the old Boy Scouts it means the dream of life and the hope achieved.
